This past weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of joining Jackie and Kyle in Minneapolis to explore their wedding venue before heading to the breathtaking Gooseberry Falls for Engagement Photos in Duluth. The charm of Minnesota has truly captured our hearts, and we’re eagerly awaiting their winter wedding in February.
Although we missed the peak fall colors, the mild weather over Halloween weekend made our trip to Two Harbors memorable. Gooseberry Falls, with its majestic cascades along the shores of Lake Superior, reminded us of the grandeur of places like Yosemite—simply awe-inspiring.
One of the highlights was witnessing the natural chemistry between Jackie and Kyle. Indeed, Kyle’s tender kiss on Jackie’s forehead amidst the serene backdrop of the falls was a moment of pure affection. Consequently, they make such a wonderful couple, and their love for each other shines brilliantly in every photo.
If we had to choose only one photo to look at forever from this session, it would be this one. 👆 It needs no explanation, I just love how they are looking at each other and Gooseberry Falls isn’t too bad either.
Having Gooseberry Falls all to ourselves for engagement photos felt like a dream. Despite the chilly water, Jackie braved the elements, adding an adventurous twist to their engagement session. Their spirits and love for each other warmed the cool October air, making every shot magical.
Lake Superior Engagement Session
There’s something truly magical about the twilight hours along the rugged shores of Lake Superior. This locale ranks high on our list of favorite spots in the US for capturing love stories, and this session with our lovely couple and their adorable furbabies was nothing short of enchanting.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the reflective pools along the shoreline captured a beautiful, almost surreal, mirror image of the couple, adding a layer of romance and depth to each photo. Subsequently, this was our first photography adventure in this stunning location, and the experience has left us eager to return.
Incorporating pets into engagement sessions brings a playful and personal touch, and we highly recommend it. Watching their dogs joyfully splash around as we captured these intimate moments added a delightful, spirited dimension to the session. Their presence not only comforted the couple but also brought out genuine smiles and laughter.
From serene strolls along the shore to cozy moments nestled on the rocky terrain. Each snapshot tells a part of their love story against the majestic backdrop of Lake Superior. This engagement session was not just about the photos. It was about creating memories that they will cherish as much as the pictures themselves.
