Capturing the first year of a child’s life through photography holds a special place in our hearts. And nothing says unique like a Star Wars-themed cake smash session! This was our first ever “Star Wars cake smash,” but it was also an opportunity to channel our inner nerds. We went all out for a little Jedi who handled his cake like a true knight of the galaxy.
The Force is Strong with this One
Our studio transforms into a miniature galaxy far, far away, with scenes right out of Star Wars. We love over-the-top setups and this session was no exception. From a backdrop featuring bold starfighters and stormtroopers to the adorable, handcrafted Jedi robes, we designed everything to immerse this tiny Padawan into the Star Wars universe.
Lego Starships and Sith Lords
Adding a personal touch, we incorporated an array of Star Wars Legos as props—yes, those are indeed my husband’s treasured collection! Each piece, was placed to enhance the thematic depth of the photoshoot. These aren’t just toys; they’re fragments of Star Wars lore, bringing a playful and authentic vibe to the session.

The Cake Smash
When it came to the cake smash, our little star did not hold back. Dressed in his brown Jedi robes, he explored and eventually decimated the star-adorned cake. It’s not every day you see a one-year-old channeling their inner Yoda, using the Force to scatter cake pieces across the floor. The enthusiasm was infectious, and the joy in his eyes was unmistakable as he reached for another handful of cake.
