Loryn and Austin met in high school and have been inseparable ever sense. This young couple decided to join two wonderful families together at a beautiful high plains ranch in southeastern Wyoming. A real Cheyenne wedding would not be complete without some crazy weather. Sparkling falling snow and then warm sun following by hurricane winds and freezing temperatures. Planning a spring rustic Wyoming wedding is unpredictable with four seasons that don’t exactly follow the rules.
Wedding details are my favorite way to start off the day and these wood shavings were perfect for their rustic Wyoming wedding theme. From these pics you wouldn’t even know that we laid in the mud to these great shots of the bride’s wedding details and wedding invitations. The iron decor we found laying around the farm house and it turned into the perfect photo prop for all the lovely details. Feast your eyes on how cute the dresses look hanging on the barn door. Love it! The wood flowers are stunning and sometimes unlike real flowers, they looked great all day.
Loryn rocked her bridal formals in the blowing Wyoming wind and snow. Of course when we photographed the guys, it cleared up and was sunny then snow stared to softly fall for the ceremony, making this Wyoming wedding truly gorgeous.
Bride & Groom First Look
The sweet anticipation of the day leading up to the first look was the best part. Both super eager to see each other for the first time when Loryn turn the corner to walk down the isle in the field leading up to the barn. The entire day built up to this one moment.
FAVORITE PART OF THE WEDDING DAY
One of my favorite memories from my wedding would have to be the weather. It was so unpredictable the whole time, but it made the day memorable and created the best pictures for us to look back on and enjoy. Especially the wind! We had a tent and my family was outside holding it down so it wouldn’t fly away after the ceremony. A bunch of family and friends worked together and took it apart in no time and we’re all back to enjoying the party.
The post-nuptial festivities were in full swing over in the adjacent barn to the modern ranch house. The Wyoming barn for the reception was complete with fairy string lights, decorated with horse saddles, mason jars and galvanized center pieces adorned with gold and glitter. Simple and rustic chic with lots of DIY decor that the bride made with her grandmother. All the food was made by family and oh-my the pulled pork was delicious comfort food with the macaroni salad.
Rustic Wyoming Wedding Cake & Wedding Decor
Gorgeous wood flowers and barely there frosting decorated the bride’s Pinterest wedding cake, it was simply too pretty to eat. The three tiered cakes were stunning and looked great being smashed into her husband’s face. So fun and such a cute moment followed by a choreographed first dance, an absolute highlight of the wedding reception. Take in how beautiful this wedding decor is with this barn, the barn was finished just in time for Loryn and Austin’s wedding. Barn was completely build by hand by the ranch owners and its simply gorgeous inside and out.
OUR ADVICE TO THOSE PLANNING NOW
Don’t stress the small stuff. The day goes by so fast. Make sure you have a moment to sit back with your husband and soak everything in. Take a moment for the two of you alone, the day is so magical and you want to remember it.
To end the night, Loryn and Austin departed their reception surrounded by friends and family wishing them all the best for their new life together. They went down to Fort Collins, CO to kick off their honeymoon and enjoy a night on the town.
Loryn and Austin had a beautiful engagement session with us last spring at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Check out their Denver spring engagement session for romantic engagement session inspiration. She wore the same teal floral long sleeve dress at the e-session as she did for the grand exit from the reception.
