As a product photographer we are often very lucky to be considered product testers as well, its just a perk of the job. For three whole days our studio smelled like Heaven. After this shoot, we became huge fans of lavender and a customer of Debbie’s forever. While we shoot products, Jonathan does all the photography, while I play and stage all the items for him to shoot. By doing this, I get to handle all these wonderful handmade in Wyoming lotions and soaps.
For the Land of Lavender product line, Debbie wanted it to be organic with a spa feel. With many of her ingredients coming from Whole Foods, we wanted to give her a styled shoot of her products that had an earthy feel with lots of elements from nature. We used reclaimed wood planks, wool, faux fur of course, and dried pieces of lavender. Dried lavender this time of year, is hard to come by but our ladies at The Prairie Rose had just wanted we needed and they were on standby in case we need some fresh cut pieces as well.
