April and Eric had a fun Colorado Rockies themed wedding at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado which was the perfect way for us to kick off the wedding season. Winter was finally coming to an end, baseball season was starting the next day and bam there was snow from the night before their ceremony down on the field at Coors Field, resulting in my lovely couple not being able to get married outside. April, being the coolest and totally most easy going bride ever, was absolutely fine with the plan changing at the last minute to inside on one of the club levels. Even with the snow melting and the day turning out to be gorgeous, the venue still had them get married inside but so lucky to have their first look down on the field. It was pretty awesome to be down there where the Colorado Rockies play. More on that later.
Cracker Jack boxes, Pinterest inspired baseball boutonnieres and we found one the bleachers with a “17” on it for their wedding day as the perfect backdrop to shoot the bridal bouquet.
Our bride and groom got ready downtown Denver at the Magnolia Hotel. This newly renovated, historic Denver hotel was perfect for our couple to hang out with their closest friends and kick off this huge party. I love how April got all her girls and even the Bridesman a matching robe, not to mention, she even got me a tumbler with my name and photographer on it. I cried a little, it was so thoughtful. I just love her.
Their first look at Coors Field was the sweetest. You can see that they are absolutely smitten with each other.
Coors Field is the dream Denver, Colorado wedding venue of any bride and groom who love Rockies baseball. If you want to read up some cool facts about Coors Field, check out this amazing article from Westword.
April brought glamour to the field with her pastel florals. I love this rose bouquet. Can you believe this Rocky Mountain themed forest and waterfall is actually down on the field?
Coors Field Wedding Party
We love these bridal party photos of everyone in the Rockies dug out.
April and Eric love all things Disney, in fact April once worked as Disney World as an intern and so their Mickey Ears cake topper was probably my favorite personal touch of decor they had. These little replicas of them were spot on and with a honeymoon in the most magical place on Earth, it was oh so cute.
Nothing makes me happier as a wedding photographer than to truly see happiness during the wedding ceremony. Lots of laughter and their officiant, who was a close friend, really delivered a lovely ceremony. Plus he jumped out of the way for the first kiss, perfection.
I’m sure you’ll agree that cake smashes aren’t just for babies first birthday photos but for entertainment value for your wedding guests. Everyone loves a good smash of cake all over the face. Such a fun moment and a highlight of the wedding reception. Love how Eric grabs the back of his new bride’s neck to really smash that cake in there.
This Coors Field wedding ended the night a little rowdy with some half naked men that had good dance moves and lots of laughs. Endless moments to capture this fun party in the Mile High City.
