Having a spring engagement session at Denver Botanic Gardens in a rain storm might seem like a bad idea but not for these two lovelies. Catching the blooms only lasts a short time and the rain was worth getting wet for the color. This duo met in high school, some sparks happened and four years later are about to tie the knot. They are getting married in Cheyenne where they have built their life together with the small army of dogs. We are so excited to be their Cheyenne wedding photographers, we have to wait a whole year for their big day. Their Cheyenne wedding will be at a private ranch and will be gorgeous and laid back, with their main focus being a great evening with friends and family. These two lovebirds are another reason we love Wyoming weddings, everyone is just chill.
Sometimes proposals don’t happen like the movies, they are better and real. Even if you’re in your pajamas and Crocs standing in front of your old pickup truck with the beam of the headlights on the prettiest ring you have ever seen all your life and your man on one knee. That moment you will never forget it, it is special to both of you and he did it his own way, after asking for dad’s permission of course. Austin completely surprised Loryn creating a moment they will never forget and check out this ring! Whoa beautiful!!

What is the engagement session?
The engagement session is one of the first things you do after announcing your engagement on Facebook and posting a ring selfie to Instagram. Its likely the first professional photo shoot that you will take with your fiance. Once you check the engagement session off the list, your wedding planning experience gets a little easier because you can use your engagement photos for your save the dates. We offer our clients piece of mind because we can make custom save the dates and wedding invitations. We work with you to create something completely custom to match your wedding theme.
When should you get your engagement pictures taken?
There are no rules for this one. It’s when you’re ready. You should get your engagement taken right away if you plan on using them as save the date announcements. We have shot engagement photos for couples who’s wedding was more than 18 months away. We have also shot engagement photos for a couple that was getting married 5 weeks later. If you get engaged during the holidays you might want to wait till the warmer weather for your engagement photos but it really is up to you, we can shoot in any condition and we love it. What I love about being a Denver engagement photographer is that we have amazing weather and there is so much that our beautiful state has to offer year round. I suggest checking our engagement galleries for more engagement inspiration and of course the wedding planning bible, Pinterest.
How long does it take for your engagement photos?
How long your engagement session takes really depends on the couple but I would say plan on 90 minutes of cuddling, laughing, looking at your best friend, kissing, holding hands and goofing off. We capture you in the moment just being yourselves. When you look at your photos, you will be able to go back on that exact moment and see exactly as you were. Its one of the many reasons we love being wedding photographers. We also use this time to gently coach you into the cute poses you see on Pinterest, while we do not like posing, it is necessary to candidly move you into these great positions for the photos. I call it candidly coaching you into a Pinterest board.
